A storm checklist is useful when the required work is clear. An accountable checklist workflow also connects that work to a person, a reporting window, and a record.

Start with ownership and timing

Storm preparation spans multiple roles and scheduled reporting periods. A shared document can describe the work, but coordinating it also requires knowing who owns an assignment, when it is due, and whether it has been completed.

Automated_Checklists explores those relationships in a progressive web app. Event scheduling, personal assignments, and coordinator oversight make the checklist part of a wider operational workflow.

Preserve the record as work changes

Templates evolve, people hand off responsibilities, and submitted reports can need amendments. Versioned templates and durable response records help retain the context of the work instead of treating every edit as a replacement for the past.

The project includes drafts, final reports, amendments, configured-alternate delegation, and audit exports. Together, those features support a more traceable account of the event.

Completion is one part of the story. Ownership, timing, and the history of the response also matter.

Work through the practical edges

Mobile use and interrupted connectivity are part of the design space. The PWA supports local drafts for already-open checklists, while hosted workflow validation continues. That is a bounded capability, rather than a claim that every workflow operates fully offline.

Email and SMS currently remain simulated previews. Microsoft 365 integration is a planned direction. Keeping these boundaries explicit helps distinguish the current demonstration from future integration work.

The design question

How can a checklist preserve the simplicity of required actions while giving coordinators the oversight and records they need? This project explores that balance through role-based work, scheduled assignments, durable responses, and audit history.
